Gospel Integration Seminar Series: Session 2: The Gospel Applied to Immigration

Gospel Integration Seminar Series

Session 2: Immigration and the Gospel

Expert voices. Difficult questions. The heart of Jesus.

This new series of ADNE seminars is designed to lean into the hardest parts of our modern reality, bringing the healing lens of the Gospel to the most complex and sensitive issues of our time.

We launch this series with a deep look at how the Gospel of grace speaks into our exhaustion and our silence.

The Problem: The Pressure of Getting it Right

We look at the fractures in our culture and the struggles in our own hearts and wonder: What do I say to my neighbor? What do I say to the Lord? And what, in the midst of all this, is He saying to me? The pressure to "get it right" for God and the world—to have the perfect answer for every cultural crisis— can create a kind of paralysis. It disconnects us from the very Good News meant to set us free.

The Second Seminar: Immigration and the Gospel

Our next webinar will apply this same word of the Gospel--that at once forgives what it convicts--to the issue of immigration.  How does Scripture describe the immigrant, the exile, the sojourner?  How does Jesus' death and resurrection apply to all people: citizens and immigrants alike?  How does the cross of Christ convict and then free you?  The Gospel always bears fruit.  God's grace is for you.  And for all people to whom you are called.  What are some Spirit-led examples of how Christians serve immigrants in America today?  How is the Gospel distinct from nationalism?

We are delighted to welcome The Rev. Dr. Jacob Rodriguez, Professor of New Testament at Trinity Anglican Seminary as our guest speaker.  Dr. Rodriguez is a New Testament scholar with missional and pastoral experience in Ethiopia, Oxford, Washington, DC, and Pittsburgh with a focus on mobilizing Muslim background believers.  He trains aspiring leaders to interpret Scripture faithfully as the foundation for effective ministry.

This Seminar is For You Whether you are ordained, a lay leader, discerning a call, or simply a soul in need of refreshment, this space is for you. This is an opportunity to draw breath and be equipped in the grace of Jesus:

In your personal devotions: When you don’t know what to say to the Lord.

In your conversations: When you don’t know what to say to your neighbor.

In your ministry: As you prepare to preach or teach the faith.

Join us as we find our voice again, not through our own effort, but in the God who has already spoken the final word of grace.

Reminder: Please email your questions for this topic ahead of time to Canons Kate or Sean Norris: kate@dandelionministries.org or sean.norris@adne.org.
