Bill Love, Assisting Bishop

A native of Texas (born August 14, 1957), Bishop William Love was received into the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA) and called to serve as Assisting Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of the Living Word on April 3, 2021.  Prior to coming into the ACNA, Bishop Bill served as a priest in the Episcopal Church for 14 years before being elected and serving as the 9 th Bishop of Albany from 2007 – 2021.  He is in his 34th year of ordained ministry.

Theologically conservative and orthodox in his faith, Bishop Bill is and has been a strong defender of the authority of Holy Scripture as the living Word of God. Having been formed in all three charisms, he has a strong appreciation for the Anglo Catholic, Evangelical and Charismatic traditions.  He has personally witnessed and firmly believes in the transforming healing power of Jesus Christ and is very involved in the Christian healing prayer ministry.

Prior to entering ordained ministry, Bill served as an Air Intelligence Officer in the United States Air Force for six years.  It was during this time that he and his wife, Karen, met and got married.  Bill and Karen celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary this past year.  The Loves live in the Adirondacks in upstate New York.  They are richly blessed with two adult children (Chris and Catie) and their respective spouses (Lauren and Doug), and seven grandchildren.

Having been richly blessed to serve in ADLW (a non-geographic diocese) for the past four years, Bishop Bill is now looking forward to sticking a little closer to home as he gratefully accepts Bishop Drew’s invitation to serve our Lord and His Church as an Assisting Bishop in ADNE. Bishop Bill greatly values his friendship with Bishop Drew and wants to be of help in whatever ways that he can in assisting Bishop Drew and the clergy and people of ADNE in their sense of call and commitment to the “Reawakening of New England” through sharing the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. He and Karen are very excited about this new chapter in their life and ministry and look forward to meeting and serving with all the clergy and people of ADNE.
