Boston Fellows Ends Year on a High Note

The Boston Fellows finished the year with our final Spiritual Formation Weekend in the woods at Gordon College. Studying God’s Word on aging and death, the age to come, the New Jerusalem with the Lamb as the light; sleeping in tents or on the ground or in a hammock; eating, laughing and enjoying conversation around picnic tables; toasting marshmallows over the grill, under a tent, in the pouring rain; and taking on the challenge of the high ropes course at the LaVida outdoor center. We truly ended on a high note, with people climbing telephone poles, navigating wires, or working together to climb up an obstacle course.

Along with the fun and games was a solo time on Saturday afternoon, followed by a wonderful dinner of steak tips and salmon, grilled by “Chef” Kelly.  The weekend wrapped up with a Sunday worship service by Gull Pond, capped with the baptism of one of the Fellows in the chilly waters of death and rebirth. It was a wonderful and memorable way to end the year.

Boston Fellows is a nine-month program for professionals seeking to cultivate the insights and spiritual habits necessary for meaningful vocation within a cohort of peers, spiritual leaders, and professional mentors. It’s a unique opportunity to look at God’s view of work in general and how that view impacts your and your job specifically.

Boston Fellows is currently taking applications for next year’s program, which starts in September. Learn more and apply at bostonfellows.com. A year like no other!
