Rev. Ben Giuffrida Installed as Rector of Church of the Apostles in Coventry, RI
On Sunday, June 4 Bishop Andrew Williams traveled to the southeastern shore of New England to formally install the Rev. Ben Giuffrida as rector of Church of the Apostles in Coventry, RI.
Church of the Apostles is a parish that we’ve only just recently welcomed into the ADNE. Bishop Andrew spoke to the church’s journey as an experience of homecoming, saying,
“This has been such a sovereignly ordained moment. The Lord has led the Church of the Apostles to take the place that He has prepared for them in the Anglican Diocese in New England. And as we have come together it really has been a wonderful family reunion. It has felt a little bit like discovering that you have a long-lost brother or sister that you were unaware of but rejoice to be reunited with. And in this glorious moment of restoration, we recognize all our shared family resemblances and heritage in Jesus.”
Not long after Church of the Apostles joined the ADNE, Rev. Ben answered a call to serve in pastoral leadership there, having previously served at Anglican Church of the Redeemer in Franklin, MA. In the last year, Rev. Ben has pastored well in faithfulness and humility. He is a true gift to the Church.
Bishop Andrew testified to Rev. Ben’s pastoral qualities, saying,
“The Church of the Apostles has shown incredible faithfulness. Through a season of challenging transition, they have patiently and prayerfully waited on the Lord. And He has heard the cry of their hearts for a true shepherd of God. Reverend Ben Giuffrida is such a faithful shepherd of the flock. It is a joy to witness Ben pastoring his new church family. He is, by heart, a true servant leader, - seeking to serve others and build up the church family in the love of Jesus Christ. His humility, empathetic heart and dry sense of humor make him wonderfully approachable; easy to talk, rejoice, weep and pray with. The Love of Jesus will always be the cornerstone of church leadership and Ben’s shepherding exemplifies such a love.”
Within the service, Bishop Andrew also confirmed two new members Emily Sexton and Adam Giuffrida. It was a day of real celebration and joy in what the Lord is doing in Coventry.
