The Boston Fellows, a service organization of the ADNE, is receiving new applications for fall 2020. This is a nine-month program for professionals in the Boston area seeking to cultivate the insights and spiritual habits necessary for meaningful vocation within a cohort of peers, spiritual leaders, and professional mentors through the local church. If you know someone who might thrive in this program, encourage them to apply!

On Sunday, June 14th The Anglican Church of the Redeemer in Franklin, MA led by Reverend Canon Dan Sylvia had their first open-air service at Hayward Manor. As the service began, the sounds of motorcycles filled the town as the Black Sheep Harley-Davidsons for Christ entered Manor parking lot.

Approximately 500 people from more than eight states and many nations gathered on Monday, June 1 to pray and hold vigil in the wake of the recent death of George Floyd, a victim of police brutality. Rev. Amos Kimera, rector of St. Peter’s Belmont, organized and hosted this vigil with Bishop Andrew Williams and his wife Elena leading.

On the strong foundation of God’s Word, Spirit & mission, Rev. Amos Kimera, new rector of St. Peter’s Belmont, has a big vision for growth: “We intend to grow our congregations by at least 1000 people in the next ten years… our prayer and desire is to see a mission-oriented church community that draws all people to encounter Jesus Christ.”

The Anglican Diocese in New England is excited to welcome Rev. Dan & Carrie Wolf, leaders of ministry in Florida who the Lord is calling Northward to plant a vibrant, missional church in the city of Portland, Maine that “invites all people to explore, follow, and join Jesus to bring life to the brokenness in ourselves, our city, and the world.”

The ADNE invited everyone to join in a diocese-wide Palm Sunday service streamed from Anglican Church of the Redeemer in Franklin, MA. We also asked the diocese to send in photos of individuals and families prayer-walking their neighborhoods - check them out!

Mission & Ministry in the Midst of Coronavirus

Here are just some ways ADNE churches and leaders have been embodying Christ’s presence to their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The theme for Synod 2019 was Always North, inspired by Deuteronomy 2:3: “You have made your way around this hill country long enough; now turn north.” Through all the wilderness wanderings of faithful Anglicans throughout the years, the Lord has been by their side to gather them together in New England.
